Carlos Corberan remains in discussions with Valencia this morning after they agreed to pay West Bromwich Albion his compensation clause.

The struggling La Liga side have offered to pay Albion the £2.8million required to release the 41-year-old manager from his contract at the Hawthorns.

He has also been offered a contract until 2027 with Valencia increasingly confident they can persuade him to move today.

Corberan grew up in Cheste, the Valencia region of Spain, and many of his family remain there. As a goalkeeper he played youth football for Cheste and was on Valencia's books before opting to go into coaching at the young age of 23.
