West Brom fear they will miss out on signing loanee Ahmed Hegazy despite having an option to land the defender on a permanent deal.
The Baggies can activate a clause to sign Hegazy on a permanent deal at the end of the season as part of the loan agreement with parent club Al Ahly.
Sportsmail understands the transfer fee is set at €5million which is around £4.4m in the current exchange rate.
However, rival Premier League teams, Leicester among them, are keeping tabs on the 26-year-old centre-half with a view to a summer move.
