Swansea gave themselves breathing space from the Premier League's relegation zone after claiming a 1-1 draw away to West Brom.
Carlos Carvalhal's side were off the pace for most of the game but Tammy Abraham's equaliser on 75 minutes cancelled out Jay Rodriguez's opener.
The hosts were playing their first game since the club parted company with Alan Pardew and they will feel hard-done-by for not winning the contest.
The draw sees the Swans go four points clear of the relagation zone, however, 18th-placed Southampton can reduce that gap when they play Arsenal tomorrow.
