Callum Morton made an instant impact on his Northampton Town debut, a day after agreeing a loan switch to the Cobblers.
The young forward came off the bench in the 55th minute against Scunthorpe United on Tuesday night with his team 1-0 up, while the visitors were playing with ten men following Kevin van Veen’s red card.
Vadaine Oliver netted his second for the hosts shortly after and then Morton intercepted a pass on the halfway line and burst into the box before being bundled over to earn the Cobblers a penalty.
Sam Hoskins converted from the spot to secure a 3-0 win for Northampton.
