Albion will pay tribute to Gordon Banks at tonight’s Sky Bet Championship game against Nottingham Forest at The Hawthorns (ko 8pm).
A minute’s applause will be held immediately before kick-off to remember one of the true greats of English football.
The former England, Leicester City and Stoke City goalkeeper’s passing at the age of 81 was announced this morning.
Making more than 500 appearances, Banks twice won the League Cup, but it was his international career which established him as the greatest goalkeeper of his generation.
He was famously one of England’s heroes in the nation’s 1966 World Cup triumph on his way to 73 caps for his country.
