A social media user has been arrested after messages apparently mocking the death of a man at a Sheffield Wednesday game were shared online.
West Brom supporter Mark Townsend died from a medical episode during the match on Saturday, in a stand where 97 football fans died during the Hillsborough disaster in 1989.
A social media account, which has since been deleted, was alleged to have said Mr Townsend's death was "another one to add to the Leppings lane tally. Up the owls".
A man, aged 55, had been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications and remained in police custody, South Yorkshire Police confirmed.
