Top scorer Patrick Bamford opened the scoring after 10 minutes, collecting a Helder Costa pass on the edge of the penalty area before sending a precise drive beyond Fulham goalkeeper Marek Rodak.
Fulham had their chances but cool second-half finishes from Ezgjan Alioski and Jack Harrison gave the hosts a comfortable win as Scott Parker's side failed to close the five-point gap on second-placed West Brom.
