West Brom put in a monumental defensive shift against the league leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, not only managing to repel their attacks but also causing Antonio Conte's side some problems, particularly in the first half. It was an uncharacteristic error from Gareth McAuley that finally gave Chelsea and Diego Costa the one chance they needed to pick up three points and end West Brom's four-game unbeaten run.
Positives
Aside from McAuley's crucial error, West Brom didn't put a foot wrong defensively. The entire team was incredibly disciplined in defence, with Chris Brunt and Matt Phillips dropping in as full-backs to often form a back six that meant Ben Foster was rarely tested throughout the game.
