Hal Robson-Kanu hopes he can win the FIFA Puskas Award to cap 'a great summer' for Welsh football after being nominated alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar as scorer of the best goal this year.
The striker was selected, alongside nine others, for his iconic goal in Euro 2016 against Belgium when he produced a devilish Cruyff turn to fool Thomas Meunier, Jason Denayer and Marouane Fellaini before curling a finish past Thibaut Courtois, which helped Wales defeat one of the tournament favourites in their quarter-final match.
Robson-Kanu was without a club at the time and the strike, which involved Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey in the build-up, was one of the defining moments of Wales's lauded but unlikely campaign.
