Burnley defender Phil Bardsley ruled out of Monday's clash with West Brom after testing positive for Covid-19

Burnely will have to battle for their first points of 2020-21 without Phil Bardsley on Monday, after the defender tested positive for coronavirus.

Sean Dyche's side face West Brom at the Hawthorns after a disastrous start to the season with three straight losses.

Bardsley started all three of the Clarets' defeats so far this season, but the 35-year-old has been replaced at right-back by traditional left-back Erik Pieters.

The veteran has tested positive for Covid-19 and faces a 10-day period in self-isolation

Natural left-back Erik Pieters will come into to replace Bardsley at right-back at the Hawthorns

The Lancashire club announced the news on Twitter, writing: 'Phil Bardsley misses out tonight as he is self-isolating following a positive Covid-19 test.
