West Bromwich Albion are lining up an £18million bid for Watford striker Troy Deeney.
The 29-year-old was left out of Watford's squad at Southampton on Saturday and is understood to have watched the Midlands League Division One game between Chelmsley Town and Atherstone Town as he still has a home nearby in the midlands.
Albion manager Alan Pardew, who saw Hal Robson Kanu pick up a hamstring injury at Liverpool on Saturday, is eager to boost his scoring options and has discussed three possible targets including Richmond Boakye from Red Star Belgrade.

Albion are short of funds but have interest from other clubs in Jonny Evans and Jake Livermore.
