Watford striker Troy Deeney will serve a four-match suspension after an appeal against his red card in last weekend's 4-1 defeat to Huddersfield Town proved unsuccessful.

Deeney, the Hornets' captain, was sent off in the 33rd minute at Vicarage Road with Watford already 2-0 down following a senseless lunge on Collin Quaner.

Quaner was close to the touchline and surrounded by two other Watford players going nowhere when Deeney brought him down and was shown a straight red card by referee Michael Oliver.
