Watford are being sued by their former head of medical services, who claims he lost his job because he is English rather than Italian.
Richard Collinge's discrimination case will be heard at an employment tribunal, with Watford fighting the allegations. Collinge was sacked one month into the 2016-17 season, shortly after then manager Walter Mazzarri, an Italian, brought in six people, also all Italian, into his backroom staff.
According to The Times, Watford will argue that Collinge's departure came after the club decided to appoint a permanent doctor in a restructured medical set-up.
Collinge was a physio who worked for the club from 2002-2011, and then rejoined in 2015 to lead the medical team before his sacking.
