Watford are in discussions with Derby County for midfielder Will Hughes and are closing on a deal.
The Hornets are keen on signing the 22-year-old with the Rams wanting £10million for his services.
Watford are also looking at other midfield options but have made a move for Hughes to bolster their homegrown quota.
New manager Marco Silva is beginning to build his squad at Vicarage Road and is offering the highly-rated Hughes the chance to step up and play in the Premier League.
