Watford are discussing a potential deal to sign Dutch defender Marvin Zeegelaar from Sporting Lisbon.
The 27-year-old has been a target for Newcastle United and Norwich City in recent seasons.
Zeegelaar is a most comfortable at left back, but he can also play as a winger.
He had a two-game loan spell at Blackpool in 2013 while on the books of Turkish side Elazigspor.
