Watford manager Walter Mazzarri questioned his team's mentality and admitted the fans can't be blamed for booing the team off after his side crashed out of the EFL Cup at home to Gillingham.
Watford lost 2-1 in extra-time at Vicarage Road and in truth, the damage could have been worse as Gillingham's Bradley Dack also missed a penalty during normal time.
Watford took the lead midway through the second half when substitute Odion Ighalo scored his first home goal since January, but Gillingham responded through a lovely curling effort by Mark Byrne, before Dack made amends for his missed penalty and scored the winner in extra-time.
