Troy Deeney has joined League Two club Forest Green Rovers as a Player-Coach.
Deeney, 35, spent 11 years as a Watford player up to 2021, scoring almost 50 top-flight goals for the Hornets, before signing a two-year contract with Championship side Birmingham City.
After becoming a free agent in the summer, the striker was able to choose his next step, and has chosen to drop two levels as a player, but work on his coaching journey after completing his UEFA A-Licence.
Forest Green Rovers confirmed the news in a statement on Thursday, revealing that Deeney will support Head Coach David Horseman - who he knows from their time at Watford - as well as Assistant Head Coach Louis Carey.
