Giampaolo Pozzo, whose son Gino owns Watford, believes a play-off system should be used to finish Serie A, where his other club Udinese are waiting to resume their season.
Pozzo Sr has voiced his strong opposition to playing out the remainder of the Italian top flight, where sides have between 12 and 13 fixtures remaining. Italian FA bosses hope to resume in mid-June.
Watford, who are 17th in the Premier League, have been one of the clubs most sceptical towards Project Restart, with chief executive Scott Duxbury, manager Nigel Pearson and captain Troy Deeney all voicing serious doubts – with Pozzo Snr now adding his voice.
