I saw what I thought was a magnificent phrase the other day: "Premier League Purgatory."
It was being used to describe the Twilight Zone of the top flight, the area of the league table inhabited by those teams out of touch at the top and not in danger of relegation. On the face of it, it sounds like a pretty good place to be, an opportunity to watch your team strut their stuff without the stresses and strains of battling for title contention or safety.
This week marked the two-year anniversary of Watford's confirmed promotion to the Premier League.
