Sheffield Wednesday are in talks with Troy Deeney over a player coach role.
Deeney knows manager Xisco Munoz well from their brief time together at Watford.
Deeney was a Watford player for 11 years between 2010 and 2021, before leaving as a free agent.
He then signed a two-year contract with Birmingham City, which has now run out, leaving him available once more to select his own destiny.
Xisco was the Watford manager at the tail end of Deeney's days as a Hornet. The Spaniard was appointed as the boss in December 2020, and was eventually sacked in October of the following year, after Deeney's exit from Vicarage Road.
