Marco Silva has offered Watford no assurances that he wants to stay at the club.
The Watford manager, who has only been in charge for six months and 12 games, is a target for struggling Everton who are trying to find a replacement for Ronald Koeman.
Silva, who is currently earning a £2.5million salary at Watford, has been offered improved terms of around £4million-per-year by the Merseyside club.

When pushed several times on Friday in his press conference ahead of facing West Ham on Sunday on whether he was willing to stay at Watford the Portuguese did little to assuage fears around the club that he will leave.
