Blissett believes Taylor was subjected to despicable personal attacks

Luther Blissett has branded the media’s past treatment of the late Graham Taylor as despicable, following the former England manager’s death today.

The ex-Watford striker played under Taylor at Vicarage Road and enjoyed the most prolific spell in his playing career, scoring 139 goals in over 370 appearances.

But Taylor’s unsuccessful three-year spell in charge of the English national team will be what the majority of football fans will remember him for.
