Watford manager Nigel Pearson has opened up on his return to Premier League management, admitting that despite an impressive CV he believed his days in England were done.
Pearson was drafted in by the Hornets this season as the club hit rock bottom, free-falling in the table and looking a certainty to make the drop into the Championship.
After sacking Javi Gracia in September, Watford turned their attention to former boss Quique Sanchez Flores... before dismissing him once again in December 2019 and in desperation calling upon Pearson to save their season.
Pearson, famed for his ability to keep up waning clubs, was seen as the break glass in case of emergency option.
