WNBA and Players Association extend Collective Bargaining Agreement to December 31

On Monday, the WNBA and WNBA Players Association issued a joint release stating that they extended the current Collective Bargaining Agreement to Dec. 31. The agreement was originally going to expire this Thursday, Oct. 31.

The statement itself is very short:

“The WNBA and WNBPA have agreed to extend the current collective bargaining agreement for sixty days to December 31 and will continue discussions regarding a new agreement.”

There are many issues that the league and players are discussing. They include travel arrangements, pay and free agency movement. The extension of the CBA is likely a sign of good faith negotiations between the parties.
