Wizards vs. Rockets game to be impacted by Jimmy Carter’s funeral procession

The Washington Wizards will host the Houston Rockets tonight at 7 p.m. ET at Capital One Arena, one day after a major snowstorm hit the DMV with 6 to 10 inches in most of the area and after the U.S. Congress certified the Presidential Election results where Donald Trump defeated current U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.

In addition, the D.C. area will continue to hold national political events with the state funeral of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, who died at the age of 100 on Dec. 29, 2024. Carter has his place in Wizards franchise history because he was the president when the then-Bullets won the 1978 NBA Finals against the Seattle SuperSonics, or the team now known as the Oklahoma City Thunder.
