My heart has been twisted a million times the last five months by the Washington Wizards. I honestly wanted them to go for the top pick in this year’s NBA Draft not long ago. But this team had other plans, in a good way.
The Wizards just accomplished what seemed to be impossible a few weeks ago. They didn’t just make the play-in tournament. Washington (34-38) clinched the No. 8 seed with a 115-110 win over the Charlotte Hornets (33-39) at home on Sunday afternoon.
And like most Wizards games, this game was about as heart-wrenching as it could be.
