The Washington Wizards defeated the Charlotte Hornets 113-100 on Saturday, improving to 11-48 on the season. The win marked the Wizards’ first regular season series sweep since the 2022-23 season.
The opening frame started as the last few have for Washington. The 3-ball wasn’t falling and turnovers mounted, shooting just 22% from deep with seven turnovers in the first quarter. Charlotte took a slim 25-24 lead into the second quarter behind a fast start from Miles Bridges.
The sides stayed connected throughout the second frame before Charlotte embarked on a run to close the half ahead, 59-54.
