Kyrie Irving scored 12 of the Celtics’ last 17 points — including three free throws to tie the game with 9.8 seconds left in regulation — as the Wizards lost to the Celtics 110-104 in overtime on Thursday evening.
The game was a back-and-forth affair throughout the first three quarters, as neither team led by more than five points. Boston took control midway through the fourth quarter with a 13-3 run that appeared to make the difference, but Washington came back with an 18-5 run of their own, capped off by an elbow jumper from Otto Porter, to take a three point lead with 27 seconds left.
