WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Wizards’ Black History Month campaign “Our Community, Our History” will celebrate those from the Washington D.C. area that have had an impact on D.C.’s culture. On Friday, February 25, when the team hosts the San Antonio Spurs, the team will highlight DMV musicians, performers and those who have made lasting contributions to the music industry.
Throughout the game, graphics highlighting honorees Chuck Brown, Marvin Gaye and Duke Ellington will be displayed on all LED signage. Fans will see a video feature on rapper Wale who grew up in Montgomery county and a tribute video to hip hop and R&B record producer Chucky Thompson.
