The Milwaukee Bucks refusing to play Wednesday brought the NBA postseason to an abrupt halt that will extend to at least a second day, according to media reports. The Bucks’ strike received widespread support from across the NBA and professional sports.
The Mystics staged a moving protest, kneeling while wearing shirts that spelled out Jacob Blake’s name on the front and had seven bullet holes painted on the back. Blake was the Black man shot in the back by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The Milwaukee Brewers followed the Bucks’ example and declined to play their Major League Baseball game Wednesday.
