Wizards re-sign Marcus Thornton to a one-year contract at the veteran’s minimum

The Wizards have continued to bolster their depth by bringing back Marcus Thornton.

He will come back on a one-year contract worth the veteran’s minimum of$1.3 million, according to J. Michael of CSN Mid-Atlantic:

Thornton played 14 games for the Wizards in the 2015-16 season where he averaged 8.4 points and 1.4 assists per game. His best stretch was during the Wizards’ three-game win streak to close out the season when he averaged 16.3 points per game.

Overall, I’m cool with Thornton coming back next season because he can score in bunches. Also, should Trey Burke or Tomas Satoransky not be able to produce much right away next season, Thornton should be able to fill in the void.
