The Washington Wizards lost to the Detroit Pistons 123-103 on Tuesday, falling to 13-51 on the season.
The opening frame began with Detroit draining a pair of triples. Washington clawed back to even the score before the Pistons got hot from deep, ending the quarter up 35-21 after a buzzer-beating dunk from Simone Fontecchio.
Kyshawn George continued to flash his defensive prowess in the second frame, stuffing Cade Cunningham on a layup attempt to keep the game in reach. Detroit dominated the offensive glass en route to a 17-point halftime advantage.
Washington had a chance to cut its deficit to 14 entering the final quarter, but a turnover into a Malik Beasley 3-pointer ballooned Detroit’s lead to an insurmountable 19 points.
