Wizards at Mavericks final score: Thompson scores 21 in the first quarter as Dallas thrashes Washington, 130-108

The Washington Wizards lost to the Dallas Mavericks, 130-108, on Monday. The lopsided defeat marked the team’s 14th straight loss and 39th of the season, dropping its record to 6-39.

Despite missing six rotation players, including star Luka Donu0107ic, Dallas wasted no time growing an early advantage. Four minutes into the contest, the Mavs opened a 13-2 lead, and four minutes later, blossomed their lead to 25-8. Klay Thompson drilled seven 3-pointers on 10 attempts in the opening frame, outscoring the Wizards by himself.

By the 10:20 mark of the second quarter, Dallas’ lead expanded to 29 as former Wizards big man Daniel Gafford throttled Washington in the paint.
