The Washington Wizards will open training camp at VCU’s Siegel Center in Richmond from Sept. 26-30. Washington’s open practice will be Friday, Sept. 29, from 6-7:30 p.m.
The Wizards open the season at home Oct. 18 against the Philadelphia 76ers. Their first preseason game is Oct. 2 against Guangzhou of the Chinese Basketball Association.
Washington is coming off a 49-win season and Southeast Division championship. The win total was the organization’s most since 1979. It lost a seven-game series to the Boston Celtics in the conference semifinals.
In the offseason, the Wizards signed point guard John Wall and small forward Otto Porter to lucrative extensions.
