The Washington Wizards had a pretty quiet off-season. They didn’t go after any high-profiled free agents and failed to retain Paul Pierce. Their most surprising move of the summer happened during the NBA Draft. Ernie Grunfeld opted to move up on the board, completing a deal with the Atlanta Hawks for their 15th overall pick.
Grunfeld, who chose Otto Porter with the third overall selection just a couple of seasons ago, picked Kansas forward Kelly Oubre with the 15th pick.
The Wizards, who are hoping to play more small-ball this upcoming NBA season, wanted to acquire a versatile wing player.
