The game had all the makings of a loss for the Washington Wizards: On the road, against one of the top teams in the league, and Russell Westbrook had a triple-double in less than three quarters. Yet, it couldn’t be further from the result, as the Wizards blew out the Oklahoma City Thunder 116-98 on Sunday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
This was Washington’s first win against the franchise since it moved to Oklahoma City from Seattle nearly a decade ago. Previously, the Wizards were 0-9 against the Thunder in the Sooner State.
