With Randy Wittman leading the charge, Washington seemed reluctant to put much responsibility into the hands of their developing talent, instead opting to rely on more proven veterans.
After Otto Porter emerged on the scene during last year’s NBA Summer League, the Wizards still went out of their way to pursue Paul Pierce, hoping that Porter would continue to grow with the team’s second unit. As it turns out, they made the correct move.
