The Washington Wizards wanted to acquire numerous wing players this summer that would help them play with more pace-and-space. While adding Jared Dudley and Gary Neal was key to their off-season, veteran swingman Alan Anderson was supposed to become the team’s sixth man.
Anderson, who last played for the Brooklyn Nets, underwent a minor ankle procedure prior to becoming a free agent. Washington didn’t think it would stop him from participating in training camp, but he suffered another setback.
Anderson was forced to get another ankle procedure done and has missed over a month of action as a result.
