The Washington Wizards replaced head coach Randy Wittman with Scott Brooks two months ago. Brooks, who was the team’s first choice and the only coach they actually interviewed for the position, still hasn’t hired any assistant coaches.
Brooks hoped to convince Toronto Raptors assistant coach, Rex Kalamian, to join him in the nation’s capital, but he decided to stick around with Dwane Casey following their exit from the Eastern Conference Finals.
The former Oklahoma City Thunder head coach then turned to Tony Brown, who has nearly 20 years of coaching experience in the NBA.
