For the first time since Ernie Grunfeld became the team’s president in 2003, the Washington Wizards are finally trying to focus on developing their young players.
After firing Randy Wittman, who was notoriously bad at player development, the Wizards agreed to a five-year deal with Scott Brooks. Unlike Wittman, Brooks had gained a solid reputation for helping his younger talent get better.
The likes of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Thabo Sefolosha, Steven Adams, Serge Ibaka and Reggie Jackson all improved their individual games under Brooks in Oklahoma City.
