With players dropping out at a rapid rate, it seemed like John Wall and Bradley Beal had legitimate chances to make the USA Basketball team for the Summer Olympics in Rio.
Wall unfortunately underwent two knee procedures and withdrew his name, leaving Beal as the only potential Washington Wizards representative.
Given the team’s need for shooting and the amount of players that decided not to play, Beal’s chances of actually making the team increased significantly.
According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, Beal received an invitation to be a part of the team.
