When the Washington Wizards signed Alan Anderson this past summer, they expected the swingman to become a candidate for the team’s sixth man position. Anderson was coming off a tremendous run in the NBA Playoffs with the Brooklyn Nets and had all the tools to fill the scoring void left by Paul Pierce.
Anderson underwent a minor ankle procedure in the summer and wasn’t expected to miss much — if any — time. Unfortunately, he dealt with pain during training camp and was forced to undergo another ankle procedure.
Even with the additional ankle surgery, the Washington Wizards didn’t expect Anderson to miss extended time.
