With just about a half hour left before the NBA Trade Deadline, Ernie Grunfeld made a move for the Washington Wizards. Right before the deadline, it didn’t seem like the Wizards would be active. The dominoes that were expected to fall — specifically Dwight Howard — didn’t.
Washington seemed content with their roster and the reports indicated that they didn’t want to take on any salary beyond this season. Plus, they apparently wanted to keep their young players and their draft pick.
Nope. None of that was true.
Grunfeld decided to acquire Markieff Morris from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Kris Humphries, DeJuan Blair and a protected first round pick.
