Most head coaching candidates have strong ties to a famous coach somewhere in their rise up the coaching ranks, but that's not really the case with Scott Brooks. He got his start as an assistant coach in Denver under Jeff Bzdelik in 2003. George Karl kept him around when he took over midway through the 2004-05 season, but Brooks decided to take a job as an assistant coach under Eric Musselman with the Kings at the end of the 2005-06 season.
