The Washington Wizards were expected to be among the NBA’s worst performers all season long. They were just 1-4 heading into Monday’s game against the Detroit Pistons. So it should be noted that ESPN ranked the Wizards 26th and Rotoworld had them 27th. NBA.com had them 23rd, up one spot from last week.
Despite the low rankings, both lists acknowledged that Washington still started stronger than expected. And perhaps they could be moving up the rankings with a win streak or two.
On the other hand, the Golden State Warriors were 1-5 heading into their match against the Portland Trail Blazers.
