Washington Wizards fans have been anxiously wondering when the team will say whether head coach Scott Brooks will return next year. And now, there appears to be some clarity.
According to Quinton Mayo, the Wizards are expected to re-sign Brooks to a new contract by the end of June barring unforeseen events. However, Brooks will be required to hire “an entirely new assistant coaching staff.” I’m not sure if this extends into the player development or statistics areas. But regardless, this means Brooks needs many new coaches this fall if he is offered an extension and decides to return.
