Sam Dekker can help the Wizards’ bench short term, but he could play a larger role in case of a rebuild

The Wizards acquired Sam Dekker on Friday in a three-team deal that involved the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Milwaukee Bucks.

This season, Dekker averaged 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds for the Cavaliers in nine games before he suffered an ankle injury in early November. He was also averaging a career high 38.5 percent from the three-point line before the injury. Washington is only 17th in three pointers made and 27th in three point efficiency so adding another decent shooter into the mix certainly helps in that respect.
