Washington Wizards starting point guard John Wall had surgery on May 5 to "excise calcific deposits in his left patella tendon in order to eliminate pain and assist healing," according to the team website. In addition, he also had "an arthroscopic lavage on his right knee in order to remove loose bodies." On Thursday, Wall accepted the NBA Cares Community Assist Award and he was asked for an update regarding his knees and when he could be cleared for all basketball-related activities.
“I’m in no rush. It’s a long summer,” Wall told The Washington Post.
