NBA Rumor Central: Jarell Eddie, Wizards agree to push back his deadline

When Jarell Eddie signed his multi-year contract with the Washington Wizards on Dec. 23, it included a provision that would fully guarantee his $980,431 salary for 2016-17, if he was not waived on or before July 15. According to CSN Mid-Atlantic, the team and player agreed to push back the guarantee date until the start of the regular season in late October.

Currently the Wizards have 12 players under contract with fully guaranteed salaries for next season, so changing Eddie's status does give them some roster flexibility. Based on his play during the Las Vegas Summer League, the backup guard appears to be a lock to make Washington's opening night roster.
