The Washington Wizards are looking to add shooting this off-season. Paul Pierce reportedly spoke to Ernie Grunfeld right after midnight on Wednesday when the NBA Free Agency period began.
Shortly after, it was reported that the Wizards are pursuing Mike Dunleavy.

These are just assumptions, but Pierce could’ve told Grunfeld that he’s decided to leave Washington after all.
